Early Years and Education

Mario Lazano’s passion for wildlife management started at a young age. Starting in 1996, at the age of 12, he began exploring the field, and by the year 2000, his commitment led him to acquire formal education from Craig Kaatz, an esteemed animal trapper and educator. The Illinois Department of Natural Resources recognized his skills and granted him a trapping license in the same year.

Professional Development

In 2004, Mario joined A & B Wildlife in Morris, IL, owned by Brent Hughes. During his tenure, he honed his skills in residential wildlife control. This included nuanced aspects like trapping animals in challenging environments such as roofs, attics, and underneath decks. He also mastered the art of animal damage repair, waste clean-up, and animal proofing. His commitment was further validated when he passed the Illinois State Trappers Test, receiving a Class A Nuisance Wildlife Control permit.

Entrepreneurship

Mario founded U.S. Wildlife Removal Services in Naperville, IL, in 2009 with his dad Mario Sr. Specializing in the removal of a variety of wildlife—including rats, birds, bats, squirrels, opossums, skunks, raccoons, and beavers—the company is still in operation today and also provides comprehensive services like animal damage repair, waste cleanup, and wildlife exclusion. More information on U.S. Wildlife Removal Service can be found at https://dupageanimalremoval.com/

Industry Leadership and Training

By 2017, Mario felt the need to give back to the wildlife control industry and started the Wildlife Removal Elite Group. This organization hosts an annual weekend retreat offering hands-on training in trapping methods, wildlife exclusion methods, and various certification classes for wildlife professionals that fly in from all across the nation. The program also covers legal and business aspects such as contract management, and insurance claim handling. Additionally, Mario personally teaches digital marketing tactics to help each wildlife and pest control operator grow their online presence and exposure.

If I could give Mario and his partner 85 stars I would. They helped out a sick skunk that wandered in my yard with care, concern, and compassion. Their dedication and response time to me as a customer was second to none. In short, I had an unnerving emergency and they came through in a manner rare amongst companies now a days. One million percent recommend them!!!

I woke up this morning to find a squirrel in my family room. Mario was at my house within half an hour of my husband calling him. He found the squirrel and placed 2 traps in the basement. Within 3 hours, the squirrel was in the trap. Mario came back tonight to pick up the squirrel. He wrapped the fan on the roof to see if that’s how they were getting in. He’ll be back to check it within a few days. Along the entire way, he let me know what he was doing and what to expect. He was pleasant, informative and courteous. I would call him again and will recommend him to anyone I know with a wild life problem.

My sweet 70 year old neighbor had a bat in her house and Mario was super responsive and helpful. He gave us lots of info over the phone, calmed my neighbor’s nerves (she was understandably very shaken) and offered to come over (at 8pm!) to see if he could locate the bat. We were all expecting to have his crew come out the next morning to locate the bat, but he managed to get it out of her house that night. Such a great guy and fantastic service! Thanks again, Mario!

My father had an owl break through his window in the middle of the night.
We could not find anyone open at midnight to go out to help. Thankfully we found US Wildlife to come out. When I reached my fathers place I did not know what to expect. I found Mario there already taking care of the situation. Not only was he incredible to deal with and very concerned about securing the room he even went above and beyond and repaired a frame that was damaged from the owl. (Special thanks to his wife who was able to match the paint!) He was AMAZING and could not more highly recommend a business to anyone dealing with an issue with wildlife. Thank you SO MUCH Mario for your incredible service!
